Show ESSAY CONTEST ON PEACE OPENS Announcement of an essay contest con-test on the thema "Peace for America," sponsored by the Veterans Vet-erans of Foreign Wars, was to have been made in all Utah schools Monday, according to Mrs. Nina Higging, chairman. Th contest Is open to youths between 14 and 18 years of age, and manuscripts will be accepted until April 27, The greatest participation participa-tion of any contest yet sponsored by the V. F. W. Is expected. Winners In the counties will go to the state finals, where the winners win-ners will be awarded gold medals. The national winner will receive a gold award, with $100 and a trip to the V. F. W. convention In Buffalo, Buf-falo, N. Y, via Washington, D. C. Other committee members are Mrs. Ida Goffe, Mrs. Anna All-cock, All-cock, Mrs. Clara Carlquist Mrs. Violet Sylvester, Mrs. Grace Olsen, Mrs. Eunice Mills, Mrs. Llla Carlquist Carl-quist and Mrs. Geneva Higginson. |
