Car-Truck Collision Fatal To LDS Church Leader A Salt Lake church leader, Oswald Os-wald Clyde Hardman Sr., 45, 3 Jefferson St., died Sunday at 7:13 a.m. of injuries suffered in a car-truck car-truck collision Saturday night at 21st South and State at. ' I Mr. Hardman auffered a .fractured .frac-tured skull snd brain injuries, according ac-cording to attendants st a Salt I Lake hospital, in the city's first traffic fatality for October. Also injured in the crash, but hot seriously, wer the victim's widow, Mrs. Alleen Hardman. 89, who was driving the car, and their : son, Calvin Ray Hardman, 7. I J. E. Thurman. 26, 353 DeVon ct., was listed a driver of th seml-tratler truck. Mr. Hardman waa born Sept. 15. 1 1904, in Salt Lake City, a son of j John Thomas and Alice Corlisa Hardman. - JJe had been bookkeeper book-keeper at Bailey, Inc., 808 W. 3rd South, for many years. He married Ruth Aileen Bunker, Nov. 29, 1933, in the Salt Lake 4esnplet-huMh-fJeei !lis44tf ' Latter-day Saints. He was a member mem-ber of the bishopric of Thirtieth ward for It yeara and bishop seven yesrs. Mr. Hsrdmsn slso served as secretary sec-retary of the Toung Men's Mutual Improvement Assn., Pioneer LDS stake, 10 yeara, aa a member of the atak Sunday school snd Temple Tem-ple View stake high council. Surviving are hia widow; a daughter, Martha Hardman; three sons, Oswald Clyde Hardman Jr., Milton Kae and Calvin Ray Hard-man; Hard-man; three brothrra, Melvin. and G. Oct. 31 Funeral services for Carlton George Deyo, 34, 1180 Browning ave.. Salt Lake City, who was killed about midnight mid-night Saturday when a car he waa driving overturned, will be conducted at 2 p m. Tuesday at 125 N. Main, Salt Lake. Mr. Deyo died of a neck fracture and internal injuries. He waa found dead in the car wreckage about 15 milea south of here on highway U3. where atate trooper LeRoy Hansen said the southbound car failed to negotiate turns at the highway T. A companion. Joe Carter, 49, 70-6th East, Salt Lake, who waa thrown clear of the automobile, auffered concussion, rib and left leg fracturea, body bruisea and face lacerations. He wss in fsirly good condition Mondsy in a Salt Lake hospital. Mr. Deyo waa born Jan. 3. 1915, 'in Jarkaon, Wyo., a eon of Joseph and Margaret Wilson Deyo. He had lived in Salt Lake City since 1923. He msrried Lila Stott in Salt Lake City Jan. 1, 1941. During the last 15 years he had been employed by O. P. Skagga System stores. Survivors are his widow; his mother; two sons, James Carlton and Gordon Steven Deyo, Salt Lake I Citv; three brothers, Robert Deyo, Salt Lake City; Martin Deyo, Craig. Colo., and Joe Deyo. Corsi- cana, Tex., and three sisters. Misa Dora Deyo and Mrs. R. E. Pender, I Salt Lake City, and Mr a. Gertrude Francis, Gunnison. Colo. Friends may call at 125 N.
