Mademoiselle Landre, having completed three years of study at the Sorbonne in Paris, cams to this country last fall to attend at-tend Smith collere at Northampton, North-ampton, Mass., and this June she decided to see the country before her boat sailed on July 30. The best way to see the most places tn the shortest period of time she, decided, seemed to be the bus, so off she went. Seeing the Country Her first stop was Chicago for one day, one day In St. Louis, several days tn Sante Fe, several days In Los Angeles, on to Santa Barbara then San Francisco for a whole week. Then on she went to Yoeemlte. Lake Tahos, and most recently to Salt Lake, which eastern friends had told her she should definitely see. And her parents also told her to visit "the beautiful beau-tiful city surrounded by the red mountain." Suzanne's father, now a professor pro-fessor at the Sorbonne, had previously taught In America at Brown university, at Northwestern North-western university and Mills col-lege, col-lege, so Prof. Landre thought It would be nice for his daughter . to come to America to school. During the war she had met many Americana and as her father teaches English, she had no language obstacle to overcome. over-come. On her arrival In New York she was startled and shocked by the huge neon signs tn New York advertising everything every-thing under the sun, spoiling the beautiful skyline.
