Show BYRNE - NICHOLS NUPTIALS Miss Betty Byrne, a sister of Mrs. R. L. Cunliffe and James Byrne, became the bride of Gunners Gun-ners Mate 3C Edwin Robert Nichols, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Er-nest R. Nichols of Copperton. The ceremony took place Wednesday Wed-nesday evening at Holy Rosary church before an altar banked with orchid and white chrysan- t ham urns and silver poinsettias with the Rev- Daniel E. Leahy officiating. Before the ceremony, Nansi Maddocks Cox of Salt Lake City, a cousin of the bridegroom sang "Ave Maria". The bride, given In marriage by her brother, chose a gown of ice blue satin and her elbow-length elbow-length veil was caught to a Juliet cap. Her corsage was of two white orchids with lily of the valley streamers. Her maid of honor, Miss Connie Brown, wore a gown of rose crepe with a hat f red and white rosebuds. Her corsage wus also of red and white rosebuds. Ernest Geon'e Nichols was best man for his brother. For the ceremony Mrs. Cunliffe Cun-liffe .sister of the bride, and Mrs. Nichols, mother of the groom chose gowns of powder blue with orchid corsages. Following the ceremony a reception re-ception was held at Masonic hall. The hall was decorated with orchid or-chid and white chrysanthemums and silver poinsettas. A four-tier wedding cake in ship design in pink and white with flag decorations decora-tions centered the table. In the re ceiving line were Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Robert Nichols, the bride and groom; Ernest George Nichols, Nich-ols, best man: Connie Brown, maid of honor: Mrs. R. L. Cun-Liffe; Cun-Liffe; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest R. Nichols and James Byrnes. During Dur-ing the reception Miss Rae Bar-net Bar-net t sang "When Your Hair Has Turned to Silver". Serving was under supervision of Miss Virginia Harris with the loi lowing Minerettes assisting: Vonds Scussel, Lorraine Tobia-son, Tobia-son, Irene Curry, Mary Ann Swain, Joyce Hansen, Jerry Pollock, Pol-lock, Norma Swain, Margaret McKellar, Ruth and Rae Barnett. Dorothy Hansen and Faye Mc-Kellar Mc-Kellar were in charge of pouring. Following a short honeymoon the young couple plan to make their home in Los Angeles. |
