Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Stoker visited vis-ited Monday with Mrs- Hettie Westland of Salt Lake City. The Birthday club held their Christmas party Thursday at the home of Mrs. Frank Finnas. A nicely appointed dinner was served ser-ved after which bridge was played. Playing high were Mrs. W.D.S Brown, Mrs. Howard Hausknecht and Mrs. Charles F. Sullenger. Gifts were exchanged. Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Pett left Monday to visit a week at Los Angeles with Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Eu-gene Midough. Ensign Ray Pett will return home with them to spend the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Allen and children and Mrs. William W Sylvester and son, Billy, spent Sunday visiting in Salt Lake City with Mr. and Mrs. George Dot-son Dot-son and family. Sgt. and Mrs. Charles Whetsel spent Friday evening visiting with Mr. and Mrs- C. E. Allen and Mrs. William W. Sylvester. Mrs. Harvey Helms of Arcadia, Calif., visited Monday with Mrs. W. W. Sylvester. Mrs. Helms is here visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Whetsel of Copper-: Copper-: field. R. E. Bailey, Mrs. Edna Morton and James Morton were Tuesday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs- Robert H. Bailey. Later, Mrs. Morton and Mr. Bailey at-1 tended the Masonic lorW Installation. Instal-lation. Attending a theater party honoring hon-oring Miss Lorraine Butt, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Butt were Pat Willis. Joan Sutherland Suth-erland and Doris Anderson. Atter the show, the guests returned to the Butt home and enjoyed delicious de-licious refreshments consisting of cake and ice cream- Mr. and Mrs. Albert E .Butt received a telephone call Wednesday Wed-nesday from their son, HA 2 C Clayton E. Butt, who is in Shoemaker, Shoe-maker, Calif. He had expected a 5-day leave for Christmas but now they were cancelling leaves and he would probably be shipped ship-ped out. S 3C Sylvan J. Butt, another son of Mr- and Mrs. Butt, is now stationed in Japan. He has recent ly been put in charge of the ship's cooking. He says he is fine but would like very much to be home. Friday after the Senior Hop a turkey dinner was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Pullan to the following guests: Shirley Reed, Marilyn Wells, Roberta Ro-berta Johnston, Donna Reid, Irene Curry, Maureen Buckle. Reed Schultz, Jack Knudson, Karl Hoffman, Marvin Pullan, Nick Vidalakis and Don Con-tratto. Con-tratto. The tables were beautifully beauti-fully decorated with candles and Christmas holly. Mrs. Pullan was assisted by Mrs. E. V. Knudsen and Mrs. Carl A. Curtis. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cooly of American Fork will spend Christmas Christ-mas with Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Butt and family-Mrs. family-Mrs. Clark Zimmerman and family left Wednesday to make their home in Lehi until she and her husband and family can return re-turn to Renp, where they plan to make their home after the Christmas holidays. Mrs. Joseph Colyar visited Sunday and Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Nester of Salt Lake City. Dinner guests Wednesday evening ev-ening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Gadd were Mr. and Mrs. Whetsel Cochran of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Olsen of Union and Mr. and Mrs. Eskel Johnson and son of Bingham visited vis-ited Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs- J. W. Johnson. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Krueger were Mr. and Mrs. Ad-olph Ad-olph Noreberg of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Rhea Lou Wilcox entertained enter-tained Saturday evening with a delightful party in honor of Miss Margery Thompson of Lark. Invited In-vited guests were Vida Rae Poul-sen, Poul-sen, Beverly Anderson, Betty Lou Houghton and Betty Brim-hall- Mr. and Mrs. Dan Goodwin of Salt Lake City will be holiday guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Gust. Miss Patricia Garrity will be spending the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Garrity. Gar-rity. Miss Garrity is a student at St. Mary-of-the-Wasatch. Tuesday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roland Davis were Mrs. Davis' parents, Mr. and Mrs- Max Brisk of Bingham. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. i and Mrs. Roland Warner were Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Stevens of Fillmore. Mr. Stevens has just i recently been released from the army. Mr. and Mrs. WiLliam Krueger ; expect their son, Lt. William Krueger to be home for the Xmas holidays. Lt. Krueger has been serving in the navy overseas. The Copperton Ward Choir will present a Christmas cantata can-tata entitled "The Christ Child" at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, December Decem-ber 30 at Copperton LDS ward and Mrs. Louis Buchman expect their son-in-law, R. W. i Robinson Jr. to arrive Sunday ! from San Francisco to spend the holidays here. Mrs. Robinson and daughter, Leslie, are visiting ! here indefinitely- The Copperton LDS Relief society so-ciety held their Christmas party Tuesday. The lesson was given by Mrs. E. Odell Peterson. A story "The Last Twine" was given gi-ven by Mrs. Ben Price. Christmas Christ-mas carols were sung under the direction of Mrs. Karl Hoffman Christmas decorations were a-bout a-bout the room and the tea tables were centered with holiday tapers. tap-ers. The refreshments were under direction of Mrs. E. V. Knudsen. Refreshments were served to Mrs. George Nix at her home because be-cause she was unable to attend- The Copperton MIA held their annual Christmas program at the ward chapel Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Hansen and family were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Hansen of Payson. Mr- and Mrs. Robert E. Hansen Han-sen and family were visitors of Mrs. Hansen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Carrigan of Union. Mr. and Mrs. R. E- Pullan and daughter, Marjorie and sons, Marvin and Robert, attended the wedding reception of Miss Beverly Bev-erly Pullan and Keith Laner on Wednesday evening. Beverly is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Pullan of Salt Lake. Friday evening (tonight) Mr-and Mr-and Mrs. R. E. Pullan and family will attend a Christmas tree party par-ty at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Pullan of Salt Lake City. Santa Claus will present everyone every-one with a gift. Jeff Ayres, 56, a former resident resi-dent of Bingham, died Tuesday morning in Las Angeles He was an uncle of Mrs. J. W. Johnson. Funeral services will be held at Los Angeles Saturday. Mr. Ayers at one time worked at the Goodyear Good-year shoe shop in Bingham. |
