Carney, vice president In charge of operations of Sears, Roebuck A Co., today was named president of th firm, to succeed General R, E. Wood, who will become chairman of th board. A company announcement her of action taken by th board of director, di-rector, which is meeting in Atlanta, At-lanta, Ga aaid that Lessing J. Ro-senwald. Ro-senwald. chairman of th board, had retired both a chairman and a a board member. Th board declared a dividend of 73 cent a share, payable March 10 to stockholders of record February Febru-ary 10.
