J., Jan. fi.-New Jersey's encouragement of the trusts to Beek shelter here brought $2,537,445 into the State treasury in fees and taxes during the past year, according to lh'& annual report of the State Board bf Assessors. There are 15,000 Industrial corporations doing business under New Jersey charters, char-ters, outside of the railroad and canal companies, which are taxed separately.. There were $1,528,255 paid by the railroads in taxes to the State this year, bo that tb.e total receipts from corporate sources were upward of $4,000,000. The aggregate ag-gregate assessed valuation of the railroad and canal property Is given as $223,461,-784, $223,461,-784, an Increase of $3(527,205 over the previous year. The total tax levied against the railroad corporations by the State amount to $1,523,255.11, as against $1,500,524.75 for the previous year, an Increase of $27,730.36 for the year. |
