Show RETAIL GROCERS WILL HAVE PAPER State Chemist Herman Harms addressed the Retail Grocers and Butchers' association associa-tion at the regular meeting held Wednesday Wednes-day evening, on "Pure and Adulterated Foods." In bis address Mr. Harms told of the adulteration of extracts and syrups, and said that he was doing all In his power to keep adulterated goods from the market He was followed by City Food Inspector J. J. Meyer, who told of his work In the city. , A representative of the Independent Tel ephone company was present and endeavored endeav-ored to Induce the association to use the Independent telephones exclusively, but as the matter Is now In the hands of a committee, com-mittee, no action wss taken. '- The association voted to attend the next meeting of the City Council in a body, in order to show the members of that body the sentiment of the retailers regarding the use of trading stamps. A strong effort ef-fort Is being made to have the license ot the stamn torn nun le rained. John A. Burt has been named as editor and W. D. S. Harrington as business manager man-ager of the new weekly paper to be established, estab-lished, to be known as the Retail Grocers and Butchers' Guide. ' |
