Show IH FRIDAY, OCTOBER J PAGE EIGHT THE BINGHAM BULLETIN, BINGHAM CANYON, UTAH " rr::r-:-a and Mr. and Mrs. Tnkl Mr. Miner Goes to Lunch i A v 1 Eating time underground for group of Ltah miners, who find mining lo e heir liking- - The human side of mining is an important part of mi mug. It is a bin job, the job of strong men to daily put on rough clothing and go deep into the earth to start metals on the endless chain of in-dustry. Theirs is tin- job that starts the ball rolling for so many other jcreat industries. Miners are proud of their jobs. It requires skill and experience to make a good miner. It requires stamana, courage and quick action in event of an emergency. The underground has n fascination that appeals to him anil be likes it. The work"rs are interested in the overall operation; he is particu- - larily interested in the costs. He knows that if the total of them bi i -- Die t..o high, lie operatoi w ill be forced to dose down the mine or some of its workings, and he and a lot of workers will be forced to seek other employment. He does not want this to happen as he knows this would be a serious blow to his family as well as him-self. Many of the top men in the In-dustry began as miners or muckers, others have become independent leaser-- ; ami operate for themselves. There is opportunity for young men in mining; the ranks were badly depleted during the war and there is room for men to learn this skill arid provide the metals for the fu-ture and carve a future for them-selves.
