Show DEVOTE DAY TO PLEASURE Knights Templars Arc Enjoying: En-joying: the Many Delights De-lights of 'Frisco: SAN FRANCISCO, Sept 8. With the exception of the members of the grand encampment who held two business sessions, the visiting Knights Templars devoted today to pleasure. Excursions to nearby points of interest receptions at the various commanderles' headquarters, head-quarters, a concert In the Greek amphitheater amphi-theater at the University of California, a banquet to the victorious Louisville drill corps and a press club Jinks to visiting Journalists were the main features fea-tures of the programme. The weather remained unusually warm for San Francisco, but as the usual humidity of the .atmosphere was lacking, no serious discomfort was ex--perlenced. The gaily attired streets are dally and nightly thronged with strangers. It Is estimated that the conclave con-clave has attracted fully 80,000 visitors to this city. Chicago snd StXouls are the leading aspirants for the next triennial gathering gath-ering and the advocates ot both places are actively working to secure the coveted cov-eted meeting. In the competitive drill yesterday Louisville commandery No. 1 won the first prize, St. Bernard corps. Chicago, was second; Ivanhoe, Milwaukee, third; Malta, Blnghamton, N. T., fourth. |
