Lynch made the above statement to The Telegram yes-. yes-. . terday afternoon when he announced the establishment of a pistol range in the basement of the city hall, where the policemen will have a chance to use their pistols in daily target practice. To stimulate interest among the men, William Young of Young's cafe has ordered or-dered a handsome gold medal to be given giv-en to the man having the highest monthly score. The medal will be surrendered sur-rendered monthly to the patrolman excelling ex-celling the score made by the holder of the medal the previous month. ; The policemen are enthusiastic over the new movement and have already made some fair scores. |
