Show DISCOVER A PITIABLE CASE OF DESTITUTION Dr. C. M. Benedict, who was called to attend a case of sickness in a hovel at the rear of 213 East First South street Saturday) night, discovered a case of pitiable pit-iable destitution. Mrs. John Carter, a white woman, wife of John Carter, a negro, was found dying of a stroke of apoplexy. The condition of affairs in the house was so deplorable that the attention of the police was called to the case, and steps were taken to provide for the Immediate wants of those in the house. |
