Show BURNED TO DEATH IN KLONDIKE REGION SEATTLE. Feb. 11 A dispatch from Dawson, received last night, states that in a fire In Holbroek'e store near Forty-Mile. Forty-Mile. James Rummel was burned te death and- Scott Holbrook was badly injured. The Are was started By Rummel, who went to sleep with a lighted pipe In his mouth. ' Thomas A. White of Seattle waa fresen to death near Dawson while en route to Tanana. White formerly lived in Syracuse. Syra-cuse. N. T. Nome dispatch state that th steamer Riley Is frosen In at the mouth of Kobuk river, with 200 tone of supplies on board. The completion of the Nome census show a population of 1300. The first news from Kobuk this winter was brought td Nome by P. C. 0"Donnell. O'Donnell brought with nlm a native who had been shot through both hands. They traveled 000 miles through snow and ice. |
