Solicitor-General Solicitor-General Hoyt presented In the United States "Supreme court a motion for the advancement of the hearing In the case of the Northern Securities against the United States, now on the docket on appeal from the decision of the United States QJrcuit court of the district dis-trict of Minnesota. Attorney-General Knox Joined in the motion, and Mr. Hoyt stated that he was authorized to say that the legal representatives of the Securities company were also favorable to the motion. He stated tha counsel will be satisfied with any date that might be ' named In December next. The court took the motion under advisement. ad-visement. The motion Is a brief statement of the points involved In the case?, and among other suggestions It contains the following: fol-lowing: j The interesting question In this case is whether the holding corporation corpora-tion created to take over the stock of companies competing in Interstate commerce and thus pool their earnings, consolidate their control and remove all Inducement for effective competition :between them, escapes the prohibition of the law." |
