Second Assistant As-sistant Postmaster-General Shallenber-ger Shallenber-ger has directed that Svend Schibsby, a railway postal clerk at Kansas City,' show cause why he should not be dismissed dis-missed for promoting suits against the government for traveling . expenses of postal employees. There are 9000 railway rail-way postal clerks in the country, and the purpose Is to prevent a widespread movement, having in view the prosecution prosecu-tion of a claim which tha denartment regards as preposterous. -. . . The position of the postoffice department depart-ment is that the designated headquarters headquar-ters of these clerks is the route - on which their runs are made, and not the city or town where they rafj happen to live. ' - A case is now pending" in the court of claims in this city, involving this question ques-tion of their traveling expenses. |
