Show Gambler's Victim Fined, .j John Walte, the complainant in the cases against the proprietors of gambling-houses, gambling-houses, was yesterday sentenced to pay a fine of M0 on a charge of gambling. Walte entered a plea of guilty to the .charge and Judge Howell in pronouncing - sentence said that the man who gambled was Just as guilty, uader the statutes, as the man who conducted the game, but this being the first-case of the kind to come before him he said he would not Impose v as heavy a sentence as in- the other cases. Arthur Bailey, arrested on the complaint of Walte, was fined $100 for conducting a gambling-house. . ' ' : |
