Show Paving . Contracts Let -At the meeting of the City Council last night contracts for paving amounting to more than $45,000 were let to J. P. O'Neill, the only local bidder. The work Includes curbing and guttering on Twenty-fifth street to the amount of $928.40; on Twenty-fourth street, $9240; paving on. Washington Wash-ington " avenue from Twenty-third to Twenty-second streets, $18,614, and from Twenty-fifth to Twenty-sixth street, $17. 462.60. A lengthy communication from the Mayor, seeing forth, that -the present ad, ministration, had made a saving, notwithstanding notwith-standing the. denial by Councilman Cross and the City Treasurer, was read. The Mayor asked that a rommlttee be appointed appoint-ed to investigate the ificts. His com-nir-nlcation was referred to those members of the present Council who were also members of the previous ones. The City Treasurer, upon the request of the Council, Coun-cil, reported the receipts for 1903 as $142.-155.60. |
