Show POWER PLANT TO BE DONE SOON Mill CreeK Company Will Furnish Electricity to Murray and Salt LaKe Industry In-dustry Within Month. The Mill Creek Power company's plant, situated three miles above the mouth of Mill Creek canyon, is almost completed, and, according to officers of tho company, will go into commiesion within thirty days. Work on this plant has proceeded with an unprecedented rate for some time. Within a few weeks nine miles of copper wire hae been stretched, a half-mile of redwood stone pipe has been built and tbe buildings have no tieeably neared completion. The penstock pen-stock is almost completed and tbe building build-ing lacks only the roof to be ready for the reception of the machinery. The company thinks it has solved the problem of running the . plant all winter. win-ter. The water is taken warm from a spring and its temperature is preserved in a twenty-two-inch wooden pipo so that there is no danger from a stoppage from freezing. The electric power of the plant is already sold to the municipality of Murray for lighting purposes and to the Salt Lake Pressed Brick eompany, which uses a great amount of electric power at its works. The Mill Creek Power company has signed a thirty-years' thirty-years' contract to furnish this. . The eompany hss secured the site of a second larger plant four miles below be-low the one just being completed and will concentrate all its forces of construction con-struction upon it as soon as the upper plant is completed. |
