The attendance last year surpassed all expectations. ex-pectations. The association has been represented repre-sented in a baseball nine whii'h won four games out of six played, a basketball team winning thirteen out of sixteen games played. In the aquatic meet the team lost only oue event. This -on the whole shows a most successful suc-cessful year. Every indication now points to a more satisfactory one the coming season sea-son than the past. G. D. Long of Fresno. Cal.. ha accepted the position of assistant -physical . director. He is well qualified for the position, and will make a valuable aiMitiou. Klwood Brown of Chicago, formerly coach at Wheaton college and other important schools of .tho liiddla West, where he nisde an enviable reputation for himself, will hsve charge of the basketball basket-ball tesm which this year promises from the practices had already to develop into one of the fastest and best teams in the West. After October 1 if. R. Yokel will be placed in charge of the business mett's section, sec-tion, where he will spend his entire time i mssteuring and wrestling. This is one of the most valuable addition that could be secured, se-cured, and all men interested in thin department de-partment are greatly delighted. The women's department will be run the same as last year, except tist 'class night will be on Friday instead of on Wednesday. Many reservations have already been .made, and the class this aeason will from the present pres-ent prospects number near the 200 mark. One of the most popular games for the members has been tennis, which is played on the three association courts centrally located. Handball will take its plac this winter, and plans for forming club arte now under way. |
