Witl the city gay i"u the buff and whito of revolutionary period, tho national na-tional colors floating from almost every building and the strains of martial music mu-sic resounding through the streets from early morning, tho Piko Centennial celebration, cel-ebration, commemorating the discovery of Pike's peak by the man whose name it bears, opened here today. The chief feature of the day, and the chief military display of the "week, waa the parade of infantry, cavalry and aril!!0 ar-il!!0 ri! followed by members of th G. A. n.. Colorado National Guard, Spanish war veterans, high school cadets ca-dets .and other local military organizations. organiza-tions. Cowboys and Indians held the conspicuous con-spicuous positions in the parade, the column being fully two miles in length and requiring an hour to past the reviewing re-viewing stand, where 'Vice-Presjdcnt Fairbanks, officially reviewed the parade. pa-rade. Vice President Charles Warren Fairbanks' Fair-banks' and Mrs. Fairbanks arrived in the city from the Last at S o'clock and were escorted to the Antlers hotel by Thomas F.
