Show FISH INDIGNANT AT PEASODrS METHODS NEW YORK, Nov. 5. The following follow-ing statement was given out last evening even-ing by Russell Fish, secretary of the Mutual Life Policy-Holders' association: associa-tion: "The unwarranted methods adopted by President Peabody and other offi-cers offi-cers of the Mutual Life in election-eerin? election-eerin? have not only aroused the in- dignatiaa and protest of policy-holders throughout the country, but have also stirred up the insurance departments of a number of States, notably Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota and Missouri. At the request of the Mutual Life Policy-Holders' association, a number of State insurance commissioners will soon meet in New York to make a thorough investigation of these matters. mat-ters. The charges against the present management of the Mutual by Mr. Calvin Cal-vin Tompkins, vice-president of the Mutual Mu-tual Life Policy-Holders' association, and filed with the Mutual on October 10, 1906, which charges President Peabody has declined to investigate, will probably form the basis for this investigation." In a letter addressed to the members of the executive committee, Mr. Fish says that although valuable time has passed, there is still hope for action against Messrs. Peabody, Rogera and others, as a result of what Mr. Fish declares to be a conspiracy. This case was placed before District Attorney Jerome on October 18. |
