Show ALLEGED GOLD IS COUNTERFEIT Man Arrested on Charge of Attempting to Pass Counterfeit Coun-terfeit Coin at Saloon; Police Notified. A man who gave his name as Frank Revoy and his age as SI, was arrested by Patrolman C. E. Staines at 4 o'clock this morning on the charge of attempting to pass counterfeit money. The man went into the Royal saloon on East Second South street and called for a drink, for which he offered a supposed S5 gold piece In payment. The bartender looked at the coin and Informed the man that It wouldn't go there, and that If ' he was wise he would not attempt to pass It In Salt Lake. The fellow at once paid the price of the drink In silver and left the place. Patrolman Pa-trolman Staines was notified of the Incident Inci-dent and a few minutes later placed the fellow under arrest. The alleged $5 gold piece was found on him when he was searched at the station, together with S4.80 In silver. |
