Tearing off-his off-his necktie, George White, son of a former morgue keeper, tightly bound the right leg of little James Macorre, which had been crushed by a lumber wagon, thereby saving his life. The boy, 6 years old, of 336 East Twenty-sixth street, was collecting wood at Twenty-sixth street and First avenue yesterday, when he was run down by a- wagon driven by James Rouse of Greene street. Greenpolnt, White, after giving first aid, carried him to Bellevue hospital, where the leg was amputated. |
