Show DOCTORS ELECT THEIR OFFICERS At Closing Session of Utah fledical Association Associa-tion Yesterday. The principal paper at the closing session of the Utah Medical association associa-tion yesterday, was "The Prevention and Treatment of Puerperal Fever," by Dr. J. M. Henry of Payson. After the discussions following the reading of this paper an election, of officers was held with the following results: Dr. Frederick' Cllft of Provo, president; presi-dent; Dr. A. C. Beble of Salt Lake, first vice-president v Dr. E. M. Conway, second vice-president;-Dr. "W. S. Eller-beck Eller-beck of Salt Lake, secretary; Dr. J. N. Harrison of Salt Lake, treasurer. Trustees, J. N. Aird of Provo, Philo E. Jones and I. A. E. Lyons of Salt Lake. These were chosen for three years. The retiring president. Dr. E. F, Root, in a brief address, thanked the members mem-bers for their co-operation and asked the same for his successor. The sum of 1200 was voted for the relief re-lief of physicians in San Francisco. . Another sum of $50 was voted for the N. 8. Davis memorial. Dr. Davis was the founder of the American Medical association, with which ' the. Utah association as-sociation is affiliated. It was decided to hold the next meeting meet-ing In Salt Lake. . In the evening a banquet was given to the association by the local members of the profession at the Commercial club. After the two days of the meeting meet-ing devoted to business, technique and science, the doctors seemed to abandon themselves to the fullest enjoyment of the dinner. Dr. E. W. Whitney was toastmaster. A number of speakers who were selected to respond to the toasts were unavoidably absent. At the conclusion of the programme the health of the .newly elected president. presi-dent. Dr. Clift of Provo, was drunk. Z. C. M. I. Saltalr, Friday. May lL 8 p. m. Only dance this week. |
