Show MINING BRIEFS. President George A. Baird of the Western Exploration company, having finished his labors at this end of the line, will depart on the noon train for Chicago. Manager C. E. Allen of the United States company's properties has returned re-turned from his pilgrimage to Mexico and Is again down to business with the officials in the Dooly block. Ore and bullion settlements yesterday, yester-day, according to McCornick & Co., amounted to $43,000, divided as follows: Silver, lead, gold and copper ores, $24,-600; $24,-600; base bullion, $18,500. Manager Robert T. White of the Balaklala mines In Shasta county, California, Cal-ifornia, escaped from the wreckage of San Francisco and, ip company with Albert McCornick, came in from the coast yesterday. Manager C. O. Ellingwood of the Western Exploration company leaves for the coast today to gather up the fragments of the company's papers that may be Intact in the vaults of San Francisco. S. A. Solon Splro of the Little Bell is enthusiastic enthu-siastic over the showing made in that property at Park City, and is letting his friends know something of the wealth that Is revealed. Having placed the big blower at the Albion mine In commission again. Manager Mana-ger Hatfield tates the men are pushing tie development work along the ore xone with good results. Manager Jackling and Superintendent Oemmell will depart for Duluth, Minn., during the day to witness the work in some of the large Iron mines.
