Show CONVICT SAVES MONEY II AT THREE CENTS A DAY II LEAVENWORTH. Kan.. May 8 Aaron Wells, one of the oldest convicts con-victs in the Kansas penitentiary, has been released after serving within a few days of twenty years. He was brought to the penitentiary from Cloud oounty, February 26, 1886, to serve a Jlfe sentence. - Wells was a model prisoner. He had no black mark against him, and was never in the "hole." His life sentence was commuted to twenty-five years by Gov. Bailey. Wells has no clear idea of what he will do, but went to relatives rela-tives in Western Kansas. While in the penitentiary Wells saved S80.48 out of the S cents a day allowed to each prisoner by the State. From start to finish Wells said that he never committed the muxder for which he-was convicted. - " |
