Show LEAD INTERESTS PLAN ff COMBINE Consolidation a Certainty and Plant Will be Built Near St. Louis. NEW YORK. Dec 2. The National Lead interests, which heretofore have stood In the way of a merger of that company with the United Lead company, have changed their attitude, it was learned yesterday, and now the consolidation of the two "companies Is said to be a matter of certainty, says today's Times. This situation has resulted In a large measure from the determination of the United Lead interests to go ahead with the development de-velopment of their company, and if heed be to proceed with their plans without reference to those oi the National Lead company. The decision of the United Lead company com-pany to proceed at once with the construction con-struction of a plant near St. Louis was instrumental In bringing about a change in the attitude of the National Lead interests, in-terests, which had objected to the proposed pro-posed merger. Referring to the United Lead company's plans in regard to the merger, a man closely in touch with the affairs of the company said yest?rday: "This time the deal will go through, if not In one way. then in another. At the next annual meeting of the National Lead stockholders, the United people will be In a position to elect their own representatives representa-tives as officers of the company should a change be made. The present officers of the company, however, are now inclined to join in the movement for a consolidation consolida-tion of the two companies." |
