Show STOCK SUFFERS fROn RANGE CONDITIONS . Charles P. Prultt. traveling freight agent of the Bt Paul, who returned to Wyoming last night, says he hat heard of much Buffering among sheep, cattle and horses In the northern part of the Red desert between Rock Springs and Plnedale. - .. . This grows out of the range conditions which are unfavorable. Snow Is said to cover the range" in many places to the depth of three feet.. This snow carries a thick crust which prevents the stock, especially the sheep, from getting down to grass. The foremen and herders are powerless to relieve the starving animals, ani-mals, and many- are reported to have died. A - traveler who came Into Rock Springs reported seeing seven bands of sheep, almost all of which were on the verge of starvation. On the other band, says Mr. Prultt, Ideal range conditions prevail in all other parts of the State, there being little snow and plenty of grass for live stock of all kinds. |
