Show MORNING A DULL ONE ON Probably not In the memory of the "oldest Inhabitant" has there been bo dull a market for mining securities as the one of the morning session of the, mining exchange, when only 400 shares of stock were sold during both of the j morning sessions and the total sum realized was only $78. This was not , due to the fact that the stocks are not offered cheaply, for there was not a single stock but that could be had at , greatly reduced prices. The orders for l ' .all classes of mining securities are very limited, and while it is well known that there will be an advance In prices before be-fore long. It Is not looked for until the margined stocks that have been carried by the banks are disposed of. The total sales for the week just ended amount to 147.892 shares, for ''.'. with the depth, and the 350 tons that have been forwarded during the month will net the company approximately $12,000. With the equipment and sinking sink-ing completed. It would seem that the company was in a position to distribute some bread money during the coming season. A Bmall reserve fund is on hand and the company have opened up the property quite extensively. The ore coming from these new workings average something like $42.45 per ton, while the assays reveal values of 14.67 ounces silver and 64.7 per cent lead. ANNUAL REPORT MADE BY R0CC0-H0MESTAKK. j' The annual report of the Rocco-Homestake Rocco-Homestake Mining company, which has Just been sent out, shows that the company during the past year forwarded for-warded 93,515 tons of ore, for which the sum of $39,499.04 was realized. The expense of operating the mine was $4626.42 in excess of the receipts. However, How-ever, the grade of ore taken out was of a higher value than the stuff mined in the previous year, and the apparent loss entailed In the running of the property for the year Just ending is more than covered by the equipment of the mine with a double cylinder T.olst and the dropping down of the double compartment shaft a distance of 300 feet to open up the ore bodies from which shipments have .reached the smelter.
