Show While New Orleans is battling with the yellow fever, New York is concerned about the typhoid feer, which has no special season for its prevalence, but is always more threatening in the late summer and autumn. The Health' department has issued a statement state-ment as to the nature of the disease and rules for preventing its spread. The report of the medical officer of the department shows that there were during the year 1496 cases of typhoid fever and 305 deaths. In some par)s of the city fears are entertained that it may become epidemic. Typhoid fever is really worse than yellow fever. |
