Show ANTHROPOLOGISTS MUCH INTERESTED Anthroplologlsts' are greatly Interested in a stone Image which is on exhibition in the windows of the Colorado -Midland freight and ticket office, and which was found in a cave in the Buckskin mountains, moun-tains, near the Utah line, by prospectors. It was purchased by W. U Bachtell. a Colorado collector, who loaned it to the Midland office. The Imuge is supposed to be a thousand years of age. It Is not thought to have been the work of Cliff dwellers, whose handiwork , was in clay, as lt is made of stone. The feature are 'clear cut and of the Caucasian type. The image Is about fifteen fif-teen inches in height'. Around its neck are carved a ' chain necklace and engraved en-graved locket, while in the hands are a bow and arrow. It is supposed to have been an Idol. A number of other tools were found in the cave where the Image was discovered. . |
