Anderson questioned the sincerity of the amendment, and It failed after a hot discussion. dis-cussion. -. . Joseph attacked the bin by saying that public officials were under bonds to the State, and that protection was afforded in that way. and not by ths solvency.of the banks. Miller supported the bill, .which passed by a vote of 24 ayes to 11 nays. Those voting no were , Hawley, Hopes, Joseph, Kinney, Lyman. Simons, Spencer, Stewart, Stookey. Thompson and Tolton. 1 |
