Show BEATS WIFE; GETS ROPE (Special to The Telegram.) BINGHAM, Oct. 4. J. B. Strom, who Is In the habit of celebrating his drunks by beating his wife, was given a taste of the rope last night. Whenever When-ever he gets full of whiskey he also fills upon on Dutch courage and repairs re-pairs home to vent It on his long-suffering and patient wife. He has beater, her so often that the neighbors and citizens generally have concluded that It is time for him to take some of his own medicine. So, last night, when hf gave her a beating, a band of between twenty and thirty neighbors and citizens citi-zens waited on him. Strom was Invited out and a rope was placed around his neck; then he was lifted clear of the gtyound and choked about to the limit of his endurance. It looked quite serious for Strom. Finally he was let down and lectured to the effect that a repetition of any ot his former actions would be disapproved disap-proved by the same band of men who solemnly promised him a coat of tar and feathers In addition to being driven out of town. Strom was thoroughly thor-oughly sober when the vigilantes got through with him and promised never to offend again. |
