U S. S W. W V V. bugle corps have been in city schools to teach boys bos and girls prop r respect for the flag In appreciation for their work The Telegram awards each member ot of the corps a patriotic medal for first years year's service and a abronze bronze bar for lor each additional year car 1350 Medals Awarded During 1933 approximately 1350 medals and service bars award ed and it is exp expected that more than L 1500 awards will vill be presented to members ot of the corps during 1934 High praise for the work of at the corps was given by Principal J. J B Driggs who acted as chairman during the presentation services These patriotic exercises are being be ing conducted by the bugle corps in L various schools to keep alive a ling l- l ing or of patriotism among boys and I girls Mr Driggs said Each morning morn ing and evening the students stand respectfully silent while the nag flag Le is raised or lowered It is ts an outstanding ceremony which is dignified and free from the I emotional ballyhoo which accompanies patriotic I Mr Dri Driggs g praised The Telegram and the U. V for sponsoring the movement and pointed out that it is one ot of the important features of school work Under the direction ot of Jes Jesse e Drury captain of the corps and former leader lead lead- er of the Jefferson school corps win ncr ner of the 1932 and 1933 bugle corps contests contest several patriotic calls were sounded The presentations then were made by Mrs Lily Fairclough patriotic director for or the John F. F Critchlow camp No 3 auxiliary and Mrs Ella Bush and Mrs Louise Young assistant as- as patriotic directors for the Utah department of the U. U S. S W. W V V. Short talks also aho were given by J. J V. V Buckle department patriotic di rector for or the U. U S. S W. W V. V William J.
