Show v LEN SMITH ATTENDS RITES FOR MOTHER Mr. and Mrs. Len Smith and children, Virginia and Don. and Valene Rasmussen returned home Monday from Redmond, where they were called March 8 by the death of Mr. Smith's mother, Mrs. Hulda Maria Olson Smith. 71, who died in a Salina hospital after a short illness. Mrs- Smith was born in Stockholm, Sweden. April 20, 1873, a daughter of Andrew An-drew and Christina Olson. The family was converted to the LDS church and came to America in 1881. Mrs. Smith was an active member in the church her entire en-tire life. In October, 1911, she married Christian J. Smith in the Manti LDS temple. Survivors include her husband; two sons, A. Merrill Mer-rill Smith, with the American Engineers and al present hospitalized hos-pitalized in England; Evan J. Smith, with the navy repair detachment de-tachment at Pearl Harbor; the following stepsons and daughter, Robert J. Smith, St. Johns; Gilbert Gil-bert C. Smith, El Segundo, Calif.; Farrell P. Smith, Fillmore; Edna S. McDonald, Orem; Len J. j Smith, Bingham, and 18 grandchildren grand-children and one great-grandchild. O |
