Mr McGills McGill's long and colorful mining career career began when he was 12 years of age a c and continued until his retirement in 1940 He gained prominence as a mechanical and mining equipment specialist A few years after alter his retirement from mining and b business siness he became became became be be- came agent at Salt Lake City for forthe forthe forthe the Engineering Co Los Angeles manufacturers of or protective protective protective tive materials and was associated with the firm until last September He was born in Ebervale Pa July 2 1871 and attended public school from the age of 6 to 12 Later he attended the Mining and Mechanical Institute at Freeland Freeland Free Free- Free I land Pa 1 At the age of 12 he started work as a trapper boy in a coal mine I and engineer engine r on a n small locomotive when he hc was 18 Iii McGill In February 1898 1 Mr came west to Denver where he went to work for the F. F M M. Davis Iron Works and later worked as asa asa asa a machinist at the Union Pacific shops in Cheyenne Wyo and at Oregon Short Line railroad shops in Pocatello Ida In August 1898 he went to Park City where he worked three years at the Silver Sil King mine as asa asa a a. machinist He then went to Bogan mine now the Silver King Consolidated for three weeks moving from there to the Anchor and Old Quincey mines where he was master mechanic Until 1905 Mr McG McGill McGil l worked for the Daly Judge mine and dur- dur I u-r u r s. s r G S r 3 r din x ti r 4 r x t Michael J.
