Utah Prep Moguls Arrange Dates and Sites For Two Leading Track and Field Meets Dates have been set for tor the two two- top track events on the Utah high school calendar with the he tenth an annual nual relay carnival carniv scheduled for April 29 at Granite high school and the st state te meet set for May 13 at the Brigham Young university university university sity stadium in Provo State officials also set the dates for tennis and baseball finals with the netters to play at Provo May 13 S Semifinals in baseball will be played May 15 and the finals on on May 18 To qualify for a semifinal semifinal semifinal semi semi- final post a baseball team must win in a league of at least three teams each team playing home- home and home games in the same sea sea- son The relay carnival open to all schools of the state will be run in two divisions divisions divisions-A A and B with B-with with the school enrollment deciding the classification as in n other sports Prep rep officials officials' who have hav watched the event grow In the past few ye years rs are are hoping that 40 schools will send teams Eight events are on the docket They are Interscholastic relay and mile mUe quarter- quarter mile with four men running yards each mile with four men running a quarter mile each sprint medley and Utah high school medley and national high school federation federation federation fed fed- medley and mile halt with four men running running running run run- ning yards each and the shuttle shut shut- tie tle tle with four m men n running yards Each contestant will be limited to two events providing one is less than 40 yards Entries should d be mailed to D D. R Mitchell Lehi not later than April 26 The state meet at B BY BYU Y U Is scheduled to get under way at 10 a a. a m. m with trial heats and this meet is limited to the first three place winners in regional meets Only first place winners in relay events will qualify quality in regional meets however High school rules allow a competitor competitor com corn to enter three track events and one field event if one of the track events is a relay However only two track events and one field event vent may be entered if two tr track ck events are any two of the following following following follow follow- ing or ot mile Other rules allow one man to enter three field events and a relay two field events one track event and a relay no more than one relay
