J H. H Keate year 82 old member of the L D S church the Eighth L D S ward brings back i many memories Mr and Mrs I Keate are the oldest couple in the ward Although the couple have only been living in the ward six years white-haired white Mr Keate recalled that his parents settled in the ward when they brought him to Salt Lake City 79 years ago from his I birthplace in Omaha Neb He was born April 22 1859 I have eight living sons and daughters and Veteran veteran reared every everyone one of them in Jn the theL I L D 5 S L D S church Couples 75 year old Mrs Mary Keate broke in My parents joined the church in Oslo Norway where I Iwas Iwas Iwas was born March 10 1861 I came cameto cameto cameto to Utah when I was nine I Mr Keate admitted he was more I of a newcomer In the church He joined about 12 years ago but has been active in the religious work being a high priest Mr Keate said they have lived in a number of wards since coming to Salt Lake City The couple reside at East First South street Mr Keate said he has engaged in a variety of businesses and the experience has taught me there is nothing to equal an interest in religion to make you feel like life is worth living Both Mr and Mrs Keate attend church regularly and willingly accept accept accept ac ac- ac- ac any task given them by ward leaders Mr Keates Keate's hobby is writing writing writing writ writ- ing and keeping scrapbooks He has 38 books of newspaper clippings clippings clippings clip clip- pings on crime |
