Show I WOMEN'S GROUP OBSERVES "WORK ANDWIN" WEEK Purposes of "Work and Win week", October 11 to 17, inclusive, inclu-sive, set aside to call public attention at-tention to the importance of finding find-ing war useful jobs and working at top efficiency every day, were discussed at the meeting of Women's Wo-men's Civic club held the evening even-ing of October 7 at the home of Mrs. Harvey Goff of Copperton. Mrs. J. D. Laycock was asked to prepare a report from information informa-tion sent by Mrs. Anna B. Peck-enpaugh, Peck-enpaugh, state president of the Utah Federation of Women's clubs, and present it at the next meeting. The year's program was read by Mrs. E. Odell Peterson, chairman, chair-man, and accepted by vote. Mrs. Ross Hocking, chairman Of Nurses' Aids rtnnHiH n rwm. oi nurses Aids, reported a new class of 10 members recently completed the course. Mrs. Clair R. Mathis, chairman of the library committee, was authorized to write, letters to the Salt Lake county library committee com-mittee members requesting that the Bingham branch library be kept open six days a week. Mrs. Rex Mills, secretary, read a letter from Mrs. J. Dewey Knudsen, who recently received the junior chamber of commerce war service award, thanking the club for support members have given her in putting across community com-munity war projects. Committee chairmanships announced an-nounced by Mrs. Don Reid, president, pre-sident, include: Mrs. Wilford H. Harris, Community Chest; Mrs. David C. Lyon, American Home; Mrs. Carl A. Curtis, nutrition; Mrs. Peterson, Child Education; Mrs. Kermith L. Isbell, Bonds and Stamps. Reports on the annual Utah Federation of Women's clubs convention, held last spring in Salt Lake City, were given by Mrs. J. D. Laycock, Mrs. Curtis and Mrs. Reid. Delightful refreshments were served to 19 by Mrs. Goff and Mrs. Laycock. |
