Show l Symphony Music in the Schools THE THE program for presentation of a series of I I concerts by the Utah state symphony orS orchestra or or- S chestra before schoolchildren at the Granite and South high schools is commendable Since inauguration of the state tate symphony we had I hoped it would be possible to arrange to bring some of the symphony's fine line music to the youth of the city ity Plans call for three concerts to be presented March 3 4 and 5 It is reported that if these Initial school concerts work out satisfactorily the program will be extended next year This extension of the activity of the state symphony into the field of musical education of youth should earn still greater support on the part of officials and public for the symphony symphony sym sym- phony and assure it a lasting place in Utah's cultural activity It is even not too much to hope that some someday someday someday day the state symphony may be able to extend extend extend ex ex- ex- ex tend its activities outside of the Salt Lake City area bringing its fine line music to the people and the children in other parts of Utah The Utah State Sym Symphony hony Orchestra association association association asso asso- is to be congratulated on its school concert concert concert con con- cert project as are the three sponsoring groups the Junior League the Salt Lake City school district and the Granite school district |
