A delicious lunch ol Chinese noodles was enjoyed by the members. Lila Contreras, who has been enjoying a three week vacation at home, returned to her work in Salt Lake Tuesday. Her moth-er, Mrs. B. Contreras, accom-panied Lila to Salt Lake for a day of shopping. Mrs. Tommy Anderson and children, Darlene and Joseph, spent several days this week vis-iting in Midvale at the home of Jesse Willis. Darlene remained for a longer visit. Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Harry Whitten of Salt Lake City and Bill Copper of Los Angeles were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Johnson. Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. John Pantalone had as dinner guests Aviation Mechanic Mickey Pantalone, Mrs. Mickey Panta-lone of Chico, Calif., Mr: and Mrs Ralph Murano and children and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard John-son and son. Len. The newly organized 500 club met last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Aline Tyson. They honored Mrs. Len Johnsons birthday, each member bringing her a gift. Mrs. Margaret Ander-son won first prize and Mrs. Ro-bert Burke, an invited guest, won house prize. Mrs. Tyson served a delicious late lunch. o Mr and Mrs. E. O. Johnson and sons were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Johnson of Copperton Friday. Joseph P. Scussel was the guest of his daughter, Beverly, at the Alpha Delta Pi spring formal Monday night at the sorority house near the University 01 Utah campus. The girls arranged a delightful dinner dance and program. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Seaman Cowdell leaves Friday to report at San Diego. Mrs. Albert Cowdell Sr. of Sandy is in the Bingham hos-pital. She underwent an opera-tion Tuesday morning and is do-ing as well as could be expected. Mrs. Ben Harmon and daugh-ter, Gene, were week-en- d visitors at the Mattson home. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Cole have as their guest Adolph Cole, form-er Binghamite, who spent the past 18 months in Suadi, Arabia, working for American Smelting and Refining company. It took 54 days to come by ship. Neils Peterson left Tuesday for a stay of indefinite length in Richfield. The LDS church wishes to announce that the sacrament ser-vice held last Sunday evening at Copperfield school house was a success. The missionaries spoke to an audience of fifty. There will be another service Sunday evening, Mav 28, at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Beckstead and missionaries from West Jordan will be pres-ent. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hickman and son, Val, visited at the La-Ve- re Jones home in Crescent Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Turpin were Provo visitors over the week-en- d. They brought their son, Reynold, who has been visit-ing his grandparents, home with them. Lieutenant E. P. Saker and wife and daughter are now at Galveston, Texas, where Lt. Sa-ker is an air corps instructor. Mrs. James Hill underwent a major operation at BinPham hos-pital Monday. Her daughters, Bonnie Jane and Betty Lou Hill, are staying in Salt Lake City with an aunt, Mrs. Ralph Haslem. Jim Hill says he'll be batching for the next 30 days. Cpl. Nicholas Contreras re-turned to his base at Lancaster, Calif., last Friday, after a two weeks' visit with his family. S 1IC Tony Gomez is horn" on a furlough from overseas duty. Mr. and Mrs. James Cunliffe of Bingham were guests Tuesday evening at the Miles Anderson home. Jack Carter, who has been visiting at the Chiea home in Telegraph, left for Los Angeles last Thursday. Anna Marie Muhar Miss Mildred Simonds, return-ed missionary from India, re-patriated on the Gripsholm, will speak Friday evening, May 26, at 8 p.m. at the Community House. She has served in India for the past thirty-seve- n years. The pub-lic is invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gerbich and daughter, Beverly Jean, of Murray, were visitors May 18 at the home of Mrs. Steffie Gerbich. Cpl. Arnold Antell, stationed at I ort Bliss, Texas, arrived May 19 to spend a thirteen-da- y fur-lough with his mother, Anna Swenson of Highland Boy, and his wife, the former Elizabeth Bartell, who is at present em-ployed as mechanics helper at Hill field. Mrs. Ann Kosovich and daugh-ter, Vivian, and son, Peter Mich-ael, were guests at the home of Mrs. William Hogle in Copperton Thursday, May 18. Virginia Jeffcott returned Sat-urday from Twin Falls, Idaho. Vernon Jeffcott and daughter, Helen, attended Dickie Mullett's birthday party in Salt Lake City Wednesday evening. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs Arthur Mul-let- t. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jensen are receiving congratulations on a son born Sunday afternoon, May 21, at Bingham hospital. The baby weighed seven-pound- s and fourteen ounces. Steve Smilanich, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Smilanich, last week received a $5.00 award from the Bingham high school for a theme written on "Safe Driving."' John Muhar graduated Friday, May 12, from the Naval Training Center at San Diego. He is sea-man first class and at present is located at Fleet Torpedo School at the United States Naval Re-pair Base at San Diego for eight weeks' of advanced training. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Bianchi and family of Midvale were Fri-day guests of Mr. and Mrs. James Bianchi. Mary Gerbich, daughter of Steffie Gerbich, arrived Sunday from Sacramento, Calif., where she has been residing for the past year. She plans to return Tues-day, accompanied by her sister, Dorothy, who intends to vacation in Sacramento. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lovat of Bingham were Highland Boy vis-itors Tuesday. The Questors and Queen Esth-ers are to be entertained Wed-nesday evening at the home of Anna Pechina. Alma Pazell is cohostess. Mr. and Mrs. James Zanardi and daughter, Lucille, of Cop-perton, visited relatives here Sunday. A beautiful service was held Sunday evening at the Commu-nity House honoring the kinder-garten, sixth grade, ninth grade and senior graduates of Highland Boy. The service opened by con-gregation singing "For the Beau-ty of the Earth", followed by choice of hymns selected by the graduates. Ada Duhigg led in prayer. George Addy, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Addy, spoke on Juvenile Delinquency. The choir sang "Now in the Days of Youth . Miss Duhigg based her talk on the four topics: Head, Health, Hand and Heart. Miss Alice V. Brown presented gifts, caps and diplomas to the kindergarten graduates. Anna Muhar present-ed her Sunday School class grad-uates, those graduating from the Primary department to the Jun-ior department, with gifts. Miss Duhigg presented gifts of copper ' book marks to the sixth, ninth and senior graduates. Refresh-ments were served. The service closed with the benediction led i by Miss Duhigg. Mrs. E. G. Ball of Bingham was accompanist. Mrs. Mary Petrick, a former resident of Highland Boy, died Tuesday noon in Salt Lake City. Highland Boy residents and friends, extend sympathies to the bereaved. John Predovich of Fort Doug-las visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Predovich, Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. George Massa left last week for Kansas City, Mo., to meet Tech. Sgt. and Mrs. Bob Cochrane, who have been residing at Long Island, N. Y. They all plan to visit at the Cochrane home at Marcellme, Mo.
