Show v COPPER OFFICIALS MEET WITH WMC Following a daylong conference confer-ence of war production board, army, selective service and war man power officials of the Rocky mountain area at the Hotel Utah, J. Reed Lane, deputy regional director of the WPB, Denver, Tuesday telephoned recommendations recommen-dations to Washington, D. C, that drafting men 22 years of age and older engaged in metal mining min-ing be halted. Mr. Lane said he foresaw closing down of copper, lead and zinc mines and a metal shortage by the end of 1944 unless un-less additional man power is made available to mines. |
