Show PLAINTIFF WINS DAMAGE SUIT Mrs. Lessie M. Poulsen. 948 Yale avenue, Salt Lake City, i Tuesday won a $45,000 judgment in a suit she .brought against Bingham and Garfield Railway company asking $80,000 damages : in behalf of herself and two minor min-or children for the loss of the life of her husband, Joseph C. Poulsen, who died as result of a boiler explosion February 21, 1942. Mr. Poulsen was fatally scalded scald-ed and burned during the blast which occurred in tunnel No. 3 while the engine was hauling empty ore cars. He died within 20 minutes of the explosion. Mrs. Poulsen alleged that her husband died because of negligence negli-gence of the company in violating violat-ing provisions of the federal boiler inspection act. The trial was heard before Third District Judge Clarence E. Baker and a jury of six men and two women. The deliberations took three-and-a-half hours. |
