rest with others I can only make a report and and a f ff Uon tion 4 f But there there has b been en a misapprehension as to the distance to be be saved 4 f 4 in the two proposed routes It was supposed by your committee that the f 4 distance by the south o shore route would only ony be twenty-seven twenty miles gr greater er T f T Tf f 4 than b by the Ogden Lucin cutoff Our surveys show that the south shore f ff f route is three sixty miles mIlE's grea greater er Were It only a a. matter of twenty- twenty f ff f seven miles mUes we would not consider it an ob obstacle in the changing of the f plans But In tran transcontinental traffic the great object is the saving of of off f ff f time both in shortening distance and lessening grades and curves The f route from Strongs Strong's Knob to Ogden Ogden will give us almost a a perfectly level 4 f track practically straight and that is the chief consideration Salt Lake f 4 ff f 4 will win nevertheless be benefited by this this as It must
