Monday evening a Farewell party at the Social Center was given for Mike Tomas, who en-listed in the army, and Pat Ru-bic- h, who enlisted in the navy-Dancin-was enjoyed, afteB which refreshments were served. The boys were presented with lovely gifts. They left Wednesday for induction. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Azzelio and by students of the Highland Boy school for mothers of the commu-nity last Friday afternoon under direction of Mrs. Louise T. Bai-ley and Principal Monnda Grange. Betty Steele and Joan Antell presided at the tea table, which was beautiful with a lace cloth. The centerpiece was of roses and lighted tapers. Assisting in serv-ing were Isabell Abrcu, Olga Chanak, Paul Smilanich and Vir-gil Scorzato. Anna Lee Eresuma was as-sisted by Mary Hazel Rubalcava, Shirley Hettrick and Lucile Pa-ze- ll in giving roses to the mo-thers. The guests were received by Mrs. Rose Garamendi, Elvira Ru-balcava, Vivian Lujan, Earl Heath and Henry Galvan. The daughter, Marie, and Mrs. ueorge Massa and daughter, Joan, spent Wednesday in Salt Lake City. Air Cadet Tommy Strelich of Fort Houston, Texas, writes friends and relatives that "he is enjoying his training and ex-pects to be commissioned a sec-ond lieutenant in August. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Strelich of Midvale. Wednesday evening the Queen Esthers held their weekly meet-ing at the Highland Boy Com-munity House. Plans were made for the Queen Esther annual mu-sical which is to be held some-time in the near future. Sunday evening, May 16, all Highland Boy Seniors will be honored at special services at the Community House. Speakers will be Mrs. Vernon Jeffcott and Ma-rie Azzelio- Seniors to be honor-ed are: Jimmy Valdez, Helen Uzelac, Milka Tomas, Marie Az-zelio, Raymond Kopesec, Marcy Martin, Mary Pazell and Mary Gerbich. School Children Give Mothers' Parly A Mother's day tea was given To Be June Bride Mr. and Mrs. Raymond P. Lar-son of Copperton announce the betrothal of tfieir daughter, Miss Jena Vee Larson, to Mr. Ross W. (Palmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jo-seph Palmer of South Jordan. The couple plan to be married next month in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Miss Larsen has been employed at the Bingham J. C. ' Penney company store the past .two years. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Martin of Sandy and was formerly employed by United States Smelting Refining and Mining company at Bingham. At the party Saturday evening besides Chief Petty Officer Mar-tin and Mrs. Martin were Mr. and Mrs. George Carrigan of Union, Mr.' and Mrs. Allen Jen-sen, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Dens-le- y, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Carri-gan, all of Midvale; Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Hansen, Mr. and Mrs-Jame- s Carrigan, all of Copperton, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Carrigan, Grant Carrigan ,Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Johanson and Mr. and Mrs. Dale Johnston, all of Bingham. Martin, chief shipfitter, and his wife, Mrs. Margaret Carrigan Martin of Union, Chief Petty Officer Martin enlisted May 19, 1941, in Los Angeles and took spe-cial training at San Diego as 'a welding instructor. In Decem-ber, 1941, he was sent to the Hawaiian islands, where he has been with a unit of the Pacific fleet, .based at Pearl Harbor- - - o Betrothal Mr. arid Mrs. Ivan Ross of No. 1 Mayne yard announce the en-gagement of their daughter, Miss June Ross, to Ralph Densley, son of Mrs. Mohleta Densley of No. 1 Freeman. Miss Ross is a rnem jber of the 1943 Bingham high school graduating class. An employee of the J. C. Pon- - ney company the past three years, Mr. Densley is a graduate of Bingham high school. He left Wednesday to report at the U.S. naval training station at Farra- - gut, Idaho. Monday afternoon a delightful buffet luncheon at the home of Mrs. R. G. Frazier, Copperton, complimented members of the GGGG club. Tulips in glowing shades filled bowls in the living and dining rooms. Prizes at bridge went to Mrs. George B. Robbe and Mrs. Maurice A. Makes Wedding Plans Of interest is the announce-ment made by Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Garrett of 542 Main street of the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Miss Mavis Garrett, to Harry C. Wat-kin- s, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clar-ence Watkins of Copperton. Several parties are being plan-ned in honor of the bride-to-b- e. She was an outstanding student at Bingham high school, class of 1942, and for the past year has been employed at the Bingham office of Mountain States Tele-phone and Telegraph company. Mr. Watkins is employed by Utah Copper company. He has been prominent in extra-curr- i-cular activities at Bingham high school and is a popular member I1 of this year's graduating class. v Birthday cake, presents, gam-es, favors and a delightful Sun-day luncheon made the party honoring Sally Ann McAllister on her sixth birthday a milepost she will long remember.
