| Show NOTED NOTED CARTOONIST ENDS WIDE CAREER LOS ANGELES Dec 29 UP UP-A UP A Along long fight against heart disease was wasat wasat wasat at an end today for Oscar Charles Chopin widely known newspaper cartoonist who died at the age of 59 Chopin a native of St St. Louis came here 18 months ago to recuperate from the chronic heart ailment that tha forced him to resign from the San Francisco Examiner He made a health pilgrimage to Germany anc and returned here last September Chopin was the son of Oscar anc and Kate Chopin the latter a popular author author au au- au- au thor hor of Creole stories He started his newspaper career in St. St Louis on the Post Dispatch and later was with the theold theold theold old Star Chronicle now the Star He then went to San Francisco where he remained 25 years with the Exam Ex Ex- Ex am iner Survivors include his widow his mother a daughter two brothers Dr George Chopin and Felix Chopin both of St. St Louis and a sister Mrs L. L C. C Hattersley of New York Funeral arrangements are incomplete incomplete but the body will be sent to St. St Louis for burial 5 |
