Show Ancient and Found by Scientists in Tex Texas BROWNWOOD Texas Dec Dee 1 SS Parts SS-Parts Parts of a human skull found near Brownwood Texas arc are causing much Interest among scientists Although Although Al Al- though the find was made on Novem Novem- her ber cr 14 14 no report has been given un un- ill 11 now pending preliminary geological cal ical an and d anthropological examination The find was made while rock was being eing excavated for road rond building The men who first found the bones thought bought they were imbedded in solid limestone us no they were discovered following Allowing heavy blasting of rock loser Closer observation however shows that the skeleton of ot which a considerable con considerable part was probably present lay Jay ny by burial or otherwise in a rock shelter underneath a projecting heavy rock ledge The parts of the skeleton recovered were the entire lower Jaw the front of the skull skull including the eyebrow ridges and most of the frontal bones nearly all of the nasal bones and a n disconnected part of the occipital bone The first bone found the lower jaw was picked up by 3 J. J H. H and John O. O Palmer contracting engi engi- This bone was brought to the theoffice office of Drs Ned and John W W. Snyder I der in Brownwood by State Engineer Engi Engl neer Wesley HalL The importance of the find was recognized and search was made for other parts of the ton The locality of the find three miles west of Brownwood was visited visited vis on November 22 by Drs E. E H. H and Professor L I. A.
