Real Estate Men Appeal to City for Curb on on Vacant Houses Vandalism perpetrated on vacant houses has reached the stage where entire houses arc are bein being torn down and carried earned away in Salt Lake City Blair Richarson and Werner Kiepe of the Salt Lake Real Estate board told members of ot the city commission Wed S Heading a delegation of board mem members members bers Mr Kiepe and Mr Richardson appeared before the commission with an appeal for police aid nid in suppressing surp thievery which is resulting in many pieces of property being denuded of electrical and plumbing fixtures On one occasion an nn entire house was torn lorn down and carried away declared Mr Richardson Commissioner John M. M Knight agreed that a man from the police department de do would be detailed to duty contacting all dealers in secondhand I building supplies The delegation called caned attention to the ordinance which prohibits secondhand second hand dealers fr frOm m disposing of any supplies within 30 io days after they have been purchased For a time the ordinance ordinance or was defeated by plunderers carrying th the loot to dealers located just outside the city limits We have the assurance of ot the county commission that the county ordinance regulating legislating secondhand dealers in a manner similar to th the city re regulation lation will be strictly enforced enforced en en- enforced I forced said Mr Richardson
