S Fifth ward Interment w will 11 be in the Provo cemetery Dr Brimhall was born In Salt Lake December 9 1852 son of George Washington and Rachel Ann Mayer BrimhalL L ESTABLISHED SCHOOL Dr Brimhall was one of a group of at 42 2 young men who established a high school chool m in Spanish Fork known as ashe the he Young Mens Men's academy A student siLl stu- dent of the Institution at first he soon oon became one of its teachers While thus engaged he worked out outa a system of school grading and since then hen his progress in educational work had been continuous From being a superintendent of at the Spanish Fork schools he soon became county superintendent superintendent su suo su- su of ot Utah county and later city superintendent at Provo It was while h he was serving in fri the that he was appointed to the faculty of Brigham Young academy During his service on the faculty acuity he held the chair of ot psychology psychology ogy and pedagogy for the greater par part of the time He became president of the he institution January 3 1903 Prior Prioro to o that time he had served as president president dent of the Utah State Teachers' Teachers as as- During his presidency from 1903 to o 1921 the institution grew rapidly The student body and faculty increased increased in increased in- in creased in hi numbers the scholarship Improved and the physical equipment of the school greatly expanded During During During Dur Dur- ing the years he served as president of at the school he also served d as a member of the L.
