RIOT IN TAXICAB STRIKE NEW YORK Nov 17 Tho Tho attempt o of the taxicab companies to break the i strike led to a riot yesterday esterday along Fifth avenue near the entrance to Central Cen Cen- traP park Several hundred strikers and sympathizers attacked a taxicab driven b by a a. strikebreaker Bricks and stones were thrown but before be be- be fore much damage had been done police reserves arrived and dispersed the crowd The rioters then marched on the taxicab stands In front of ot the Plaza Savoy and Netherlands hotels and drove them away Most of the taxicabs driven by strike strike- e- e breakers eakers were guarded b by policemen It is said aid many of the men will return to work toda today although the strike has not riot been officially settled The strikers domand demand de do- do mand a closed shop agreement
